Again, thanks to the Penobscot Theatre of Bangor, ME, for the great reading of my play, MONA LISA at Northern Writes: 4th Annual New Play Festival, Penobscot Theatre, Bangor, ME, July 2, 2010 at 7:00 pm.

What a fantastic reading. The actors only had a two-hour rehearsal and really did a great job with the script. Their theatre is in downton Bangor, ME, and is quite beautiful. If you're ever in the area, you should stop in and check it out. MONA LISA was the last play in their reading series that included 19 plays, and we still had an audience of over 50 people. Thanks again to the Producing Artistic Director Scott Levy, Managing Director Marcie Bramucci (who directed the play) and the rest of the staff and actors at the theatre.

The Penobscot Theatre at the Bangor Opera House, which was built in 1920 and is an Art Deco/Egyptian Revival style.

The audience as they were coming in. Unfortunately, I didn't get the width of the entire house. (Hey, I was working with my cellphone.) Those are the actors on the stage.

Main Street

The Charles Inn, where I stayed. It's downtown next to a little park (in front) and walking distance to the theatre.

Since I stayed downtown and didn't have a car, these are all walking distance. Another street scene.

All three of these churches were within blocks of each other.

This seems to be the largest portion of the Penobscot River which splits downtown into two sections.

More of the river. This reminded me a bit of Dublin.

These are the bridges to the University of Maine Art Museum. That's a small pocket part on the right. All still within downtown.

Penobscot Theatre Reading of Mona Lisa
